It doesn’t need to be difficult to get the garden that you want and one that you can enjoy this summer. You just need to factor in the time and the costs that are associated with doing the work. For example, you may need sprinkler repair, skip hire, or a landscape gardener.

If you want to know where to start have a look at these tips below:

Start With The Foundations

Whenever you start a garden project you need to start with the foundations, especially when you are designing your family garden. It needs to be safe and secure. If you cover your garden with concrete slabs or paving stones, it could spell disaster for younger kids, especially as they are prone to trips and falls. They could even slip when the weather is wetter. You may find that your kids get put off playing outdoors for this reason, or you keep them in more because you are worried about them getting hurt. You should think about adding a grasses area where they can play and enjoy toys such as a slide or swing.

Have Dedicated Areas

When you know what your foundations are going to be, you need to start looking at the different areas of your garden. If you separate your garden into zones you are making it a much more functional space for your family to use. Start by looking at the play area and make sure you add in some equipment to keep them entertained. If you start with this area, they can then play outside while you look at the rest of the garden without you worrying that they are getting into things that they shouldn’t. You should then look at creating an alfresco dining zone and a place for relaxing. You may even want to look at adding a zone where you can grow some fruits and vegetables.

Planting Fruit And Vegetables

When you have a garden that you can enjoy it provides you with the perfect opportunity to grow your own fruit and veggies. You and your children will benefit from doing this. Not only will they have access to fresh fruit and vegetables but they will also learn about how ot grow and cook them. You may find that their interest grows when they are growing and picking them themselves so you have less trouble with them eating them at home. It doesn’t take long to start growing veggies, you just need to make sure you do some research before you start. Some veggies and fruit are easier to grow than others, so, it’s a good idea to start with easy before moving on.
