How do you like to spend your free time? Many people wish they had more free time, but when they finally get some, they get bored quickly. We are so used to being busy that it's hard for us to just sit around and do nothing.
If this sounds like you, why not use your free time to do more? There are so many choices that would make your days much more exciting. As long as what you're doing is fun and takes your mind off work or other things that could be stressful, it doesn't matter that you're not sitting still and doing nothing. In fact, it's often better not to. Here are some things you can do with your free time if you want to do more.
Pick A Drawer To Clear And Clean
Pick a drawer at random and start organizing its contents if you want to increase your productivity. Pick whatever requires your immediate attention. If you clean out one drawer per week, your entire home will be spotless and organized in only a few short months.
When you’re cleaning out your drawers, you need to remove everything, which is why it’s best to do one drawer at a time. Empty it out and clean the inside with a cloth. Then pay attention to what you took out. Some of it you’ll need, but it’s likely there will be items you don’t want, forgot you had, or don’t recognize at all. In that case, it’s time to dispose of them. This will leave you with easy to manage drawers and much less clutter.
Research Gifts
Most people get at least a little worried when it comes to giving loved ones and friends gifts. In many cases, the main issue is that they have left things too late, so they don’t have a lot of time to research a great gift and end up giving something that is less than perfect.
If you have some spare time and there are birthdays coming up, or perhaps it’s edging towards Christmas, that time could be well spent researching potential gifts. You might find the best Go Anywhere Do Anything (GADA) watches that you just know would be perfect for someone. Or perhaps you take the time to sign up for online stores’ newsletters to be the first to hear about their latest products. You don’t have to buy the gifts right now, but having a good idea of what to get when you do need them will save you a lot of time and worry.
Start A Big Project
Why not take advantage of an evening when you don't have anything else going on to get started on that side project you've been thinking about for a while? You should sit down and write that album, begin writing that book you've been meaning to get to, or investigate returning to school. Maybe now is the time you cement your business ideas and write your business plan. Perhaps you can design your website. Or it is work around the house that needs your attention; could you strip the wallpaper or paint the doors?
Big projects are tricky because we find them off-putting. They’ll take a long time, and they might be hard to do. However, unless we actually get started, they really will become impossible, and when you have nothing else to do, you might as well take the plunge.
