Happy Tuesday friends! Today I am so excited to share with y'all some pictures from a drive and hike that we did during this time of social distancing and stay at home shelter in place. I know that I have said this a lot but we are so blessed to live in such a beautiful area that makes getting out to see nature and its glorious beauty so easily accessible.
I do want to say also though that we fully support our leaders in the mandates of being sheltered in place and have taken all the necessary precautions (especially with me being immune compromised and for the health and safety of others). So we have taken drives into the mountains and if we see that there are cars at hikes we drive onto a different trail or spot which has led to lots of fun adventures! If we don't find a place right away we just keep driving until we do and this has been so lovely to discover new spots that we may never have seen otherwise!
One of those adventures happened today after we went to explore one of the #adk50falls for the challenge! It was such a beautiful day and so we decided to explore a bit more after the waterfall and just kept taking different roads and ended up coming on a road named "trout pond". There was no one around and so we decided to turn down the road and came upon the most beautiful pond.
I know I have said this before here on the blog but it is moments of discovery like this- lovely tucked away spots that remind me of the beauty that we are surrounded by in our lives. There are lots of times in life where it is not possible to travel to a far away destination, but the brief side road detours that I have taken on trips and on days like this one remind me that life is full of beautiful adventures if we look for them... even just taking a few moments to detour off our normal path. (On this note I am excited to share about a new project soon that I can't wait to share with y'all! Coming soon!)
We stopped to take pictures from the roadside and it was so serene and peaceful. While there were several cabins along the road that look like summer cabins there was no one currently on the road and it was just beautiful.
At one point there was a place that was public property that we could hike down to the pond which we did.
The views at the bottom of our little hike down were gorgeous and we just were in awe of the quiet and beauty that we were seeing.
It was a lovely area to discover on our trip home and one that we will soon not forget.
I hope that this post is an encouragement during this season friends to find ways of adventure and exploring right now. No matter where you are friends during this time (even if you are stuck in bed like I was for many years), take the time to find adventures. Keep exploring, keep learning, and keep taking the time to stop and appreciate the beauty because you never know what is around the next corner.
Happy Tuesday friends! I hope that you have a wonderful day!
