The other day (on Wednesday) we stopped at our mailbox after a long day of appointments. My spirit was heavy because of the 4th and the upcoming festivities that I knew we would be surrounded by at the cabin... we ourselves used to go all out for this holiday. I saw there was a card from Carina and I just smiled. I didn't open the card because I wanted to take a few moments privately to treasure the words of wisdom that I knew she would have... and there was so much beautiful wisdom in this envelope...
So... when a card arrives in the mail...at just "the right" timing and holds a priceless gift of words, a special photograph, and a gift that reminds you that every single detail (down to unspoken specifics) is in God's hand... you weep deeply.
"Sunshine"...I will always be grateful for your friendship and for your love all of these years...and words fail at the impact this has had to my broken and grieving heart... thank you for gently and specifically reminding me of Psalm 34... just like you did 10 years ago...

and he is always ready to restore the repentant one.
Even when bad things happen to the good and godly ones,
the Lord will save them and not let them be defeated
by what they face.
God will be your bodyguard to protect you
when trouble is near.
