Happy Friday friends! I hope that you have had a great week! Today I am so excited to share in depth about the Merrell Women's Moab 2 Mid Waterproof Hiking Boot that I have talked so much about in the last 9 months here on the blog. They are currently on sale (you can find them HERE) and if you are looking for a great hiking boot I can't recommend this one enough!
I first shared about these boots in my Alaska Road Trip Packing List post (found HERE). As I shared in that post (and above) I can't say enough about them. They are honestly the best pair of hiking shoes I have ever owned for several reasons.
First, they need absolutely NO breaking in! I will be honest- I did something that I never do for a trip or a hiking experience which was purchasing them right before the trip. Due to the timing I didn't get a chance to wear them before the trip and I ended up wearing them for 12 hours the first day and walked about 5 miles.
Guess what? There were no blisters...no discomfort... just the perfect hiking shoes.
Second, the traction of the Merrell Women's Moab 2 Mid Waterproof Hiking Boot is great. This picture above (from our Worthington Glacier Ridge Hike in Alaska) doesn't really do the steep ridge hike justice, but suffice it to say it is very steep and I didn't slide or slip once. The shoes are perfect for all different terrain and awesome if you are looking at using them for slippery or steep terrain.
Third, despite the different terrains they offer incredible support. They are a Mid Hiking Boot, but I felt that the arch support and the protection for the ankle is great.
Fourth, one of the things that I love about the Merrell Women's Moab 2 Mid Waterproof Hiking Boot is that they are incredibly lightweight.
The website says that they are about 11 ounces and I would say that this is definitely true. When I was hiking Rattlesnake Mountain last summer, I was really struck by this fact of how lightweight they truly are!
Fifth, I love the fact that these Merrell Women's Moab 2 Mid Waterproof Hiking Boots are waterproof. Y'all may remember how I talked about this in my post from Bishop's Beach in Homer, Alaska (read about it HERE), but they are completely waterproof and I loved that. You can sort of see in this picture above that I was standing in sandy water and my feet stayed completely dry! Both at Bishop's Beach and at Eklutna Lake I ended up walking in water that was about 2-3 inches deep for quite a while and my feet stayed completely dry.
If you are looking for a new hiking boot definitely check out the Merrell Women's Moab 2 Mid Waterproof Hiking Boot y'all. They are currently on sale (you can find them HERE) and come in several different colors! Let me know if you have any questions! I would be happy to answer them!
I hope you have a great weekend friends!
