On Thursday night my mom and I went to see a local play. I had given her tickets for her birthday... y'all know that I love theater, plays, and music, so it was fun to go do this with my mom.
Friday night I ended up having a sweet long conversation with my dear friend Sue. What is it about girl talks that are so good for the heart and soul? They just really are. *smiles*
As I drove home that night I was struck by the way that Spring is slowly coming to this beautiful area of the world (even though I hear we are supposed to get snow the next few days. *smiles*
On Saturday we drove up into Canada and it was so fun. Y'all know I love adventures- and even just traveling an hour away is so fun for this adventurous heart of mine. Let's be real- we can just go on a different road and I love it. I have been trying to explore more and more of my closer surroundings this winter and am loving it.
Because of treatment round #7 we never really celebrated my birthday so we had a belated birthday dinner at one of my favorite restaurants in Montreal! I have to write a post about it sometime- because y'all I just love it! *smiles*
The food is yummy and they do an amazing job with gluten free items on the menu. The above picture is some appetizers that my parents were sharing. Yummy, yummy.
Yesterday I headed over to Lake Placid and attended a workshop hosted by the Adirondack Mountain Club all about the 46ers. The drive over was absolutely stunning and I was in awe with the beauty of this time of year. (Let's be real- I pretty much love every time of year. *smiles*) The workshop started early in the morning and was all day and was filled with tons of helpful and practical information.
Tyler (who led the workshop) gave helpful, practical, and interesting information about the history of the high peaks, the individual mountains (and best trails and parking lots of where to park), and the inspiration to keep hiking. It was definitely a full day yesterday of dreaming of getting back into the Adirondack Park I love so much and even some helpful information for my upcoming trip in the summer to Alaska.
I can't believe that we are already into the second week of April y'all! I think I say this with every weekend recap post but this new year seems to be flying so quickly. I want to grab onto the moments and just hold time still in some ways, and yet it continues to march forward and with that I know will come new adventures and joys.
Did y'all have a good weekend? Did you do anything special this weekend? Happy Monday friends! I hope that you have a wonderful beginning to your new week!
PS- Recently I have been getting a lot of emails asking about where to purchase different items in my post so for those who are curious I will try to list the things that I can find. I do a lot of shopping at consignment and thrift stores so sometimes I can't find exact items but I will try to list those items I can find! Thanks friends!
