Happy Thursday friends! Today I am excited to share more with y'all about the trip that I took to the Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort last week, specifically sharing about the beautiful room that I stayed in- Room 546, the Haystack Room!
Walking into the Haystack Room was absolutely beautiful. The minute that I entered I immediately knew that it would be a lovely Adirondack retreat away. If you missed it you can see my walk through of room 546 on my instagram stories by clicking HERE.
The room (as you can see in the pictures above) has amazing lake views and also included a beautiful balcony. The first night that I was there I slipped outside and just looked out over the still lake and saw the ice skating lights down by the lake and just smiled. It definitely felt like I had stepped into a Hallmark movie.
The next morning when I went out to the balcony, snow had arrived, but it made it feel like you were in a beautiful winter snow globe. *smiles*
The room comes with a king size bed, an over-sized whirlpool (which I will talk about in minute *smiles*), a gas fireplace, and a huge over-sized chair that was perfect for curling up in and reading by the window.
With that beautiful picture size window and glass door leading out to the balcony, the light truly drew you in and showed you the gorgeous views of the property. I said this before, but I just spent time looking out those windows and enjoying the relaxing space.
The fireplace was so cozy for the winter days that I was at Golden Arrow and I loved the rustic and relaxing atmosphere that it gave. What is it about fireplaces that make everything more cozy?? It truly added to the ambiance that surrounds the room and the property in general.
I think that I have said this about a thousand times in the past week but hands down my favorite part of the room was the over-sized whirlpool. As a tall gal (6 ft 3)this whirlpool swallowed me up and was huge- it was lovely. Y'all I seriously can't stop talking about my love for whirlpools and believe me everyone is tired of hearing about it now. *smiles*
If you are looking to "escape" and have quiet this room is the answer for you. The room is located at the far right of the entire property on the top floor so you truly are removed away from everything. If you are looking for a cozy luxury get-away make sure to book this room!
A couple of things that I loved about the room (in addition to what I have shared above)...
Welcome Binder
I loved that there was a welcome binder in each room filled with helpful information and even included a history of Lake Placid and the Resort. Having this information regarding the resort made you feel like you were part of the family and knew the history and like you were part of the story. I had never seen this done before and thought it was a great idea!
Storage Space
There was lots of room to fit even a full size suitcase in the closet which was wonderful because it allows you to get it out of the way after you have unpacked.
Towel Warmers
Located right outside the whirlpool, the towel warmers added a touch of luxury that was simply lovely.
Amazing Shower & Water-pressure
The shower was amazing y'all- it was a glassed in shower with a rain shower head and it felt so delightful. Sometimes in large resorts there is not great sized showers or water pressure due to the number of guests, etc. but that was not the case here- it just continued the theme of luxury in the whole experience.
*the room also had a complimentary hair dryer for those who need it*
Refrigerator in the Room
There is also a mini-refrigerator in the room. I used this to store some left overs (portions at Generations are quite ample!) and it was a lovely addition to the room.
Microwave in the Room
Remember the left overs that I just mentioned? Well it worked wonderfully that there was a microwave in the room to heat them up!
Complimentary Wi-fi
Keurig Single Cup Coffee Brewers
One thing that I definitely want to add is how safe I felt as a single girl traveling to this property. I know that this is something that a lot of women want to know and I can definitely tell you that I always felt completely safe on the property and was not concerned at all. If you are looking to "get away" for a retreat alone than I would definitely recommend the property and this room.
The cost of the Haystack Room per night ranges from approximately $199+ depending on the time of year that you are visiting. You can find out more by clicking HERE.
I hope that this review of the Haystack Room- Room 546 at the Golden Arrow helps you see what a wonderful place this would be for a visit! Let me know if y'all have any questions about anything!
