Happy Friday friends! I am so excited to share more about the trip to Florida that I took a couple of weeks ago! Today I am specifically excited to share about Il Mulino Restaurant that is located at the Walt Disney World Swan Hotel.
Il Mulino Restaurant is one of the signature restaurants at the Walt Disney World Swan Hotel which is located in the heart of "the most magical place on earth". The beautiful tropical landscaping, tranquil waterways (and old-fashioned looking boats that gently glide on these waters), and unique architecture all comes together to create a landmark spot that is fully Disney and yet a bit removed.
Our reservation was for Friday evening at 7:45pm and we arrived a few minutes early to see some of the property. After receiving complimentary valet parking, it was fun to walk around for a few minutes outside the property before we went inside for our reservation.

We were immediately impressed with the lovely welcome that we received and also the restaurant itself. It is a wide open space with a modern feel and all of the charm and class of Disney and yet removed from the Theme Parks.

Dinner is served everyday from 5:00 to 11:00pm is open to the public each night and reservations are highly recommended. If you are coming to visit Disney and use the Disney app you can arrange your reservations through the app for Il Mulino and even state preferences due to allergies. The Lounge at Il Mulino opens at 3:00pm and stays open till 11pm. (Please note though that Il Mulino does not participate in the Disney Dining Plan!)
The menu for the restaurant is wide and varied with lots of different options. You can find the dinner menu HERE, the wine menu HERE, a kids menu HERE and the dessert menu HERE.
It took us some time to decide on what we wanted (because there were so many different lovely choices!) but we started with the Insaccati Misti appetizer. Y'all this appetizer (seen in the picture above) included prosciutto, mortadella, soprassata, cacciatorini, parmigiano reggiano, roasted red peppers, cherry vinegar peppers, and buffalo mozarella and was delicious. The appetizer states it is for two people but the three of us had a hard time finishing it and we ended up taking it back to the hotel as part of our left overs. It was delicious and so yummy!!
For dinner Paul chose the Totellini Alla Panna dish (Meat Tortellini and Peas in a Cream Sauce) while Ali and I both chose the Salmone, which was a delicious dish of Salmon in Garlic and Olive oil with Wild Mushroom Sauce over Brocoli Rabe. We all enjoyed the dinners so much and everything was absolutely delicious.
For desert Ali chose the Tartufo (which is an Italian Gelato that is encased in Chocolate and served with whipped cream and zabaglione), I had some delicious and fresh mixed berries and Paul chose the Tiramisu.
Each course that we had was absolutely delicious and the presentation was absolutely lovely. We had the best time just sitting and chatting and talking. It was one of the most relaxing meals that I have had in a long time and it was one of my favorites that I ever had a Disney property.
For those who have food allergies like myself, one of the things that was delightful to discover was how much Il Mulino Restaurant catered to my food allergies. When the reservations were made with the Disney app I had the opportunity to "forewarn" the kitchen of my allergies. and when we sat down one of the first things that our waiter did was go over the restrictions I had. The waiter quickly and competently shared the items that would be best for me and also about the different items that could be tailored (including the pasta) to be gluten free. As someone who has health issues it was nice to know that these options were available at the restaurant even before we arrived. It was refreshing to know that so much precautions were taken and I could enjoy my meal with no worries of cross-contamination.
I truly hope that y'all have the opportunity to go and eat at Il Mulino Restaurant. If you would like to make a reservation or find out more you can do so HERE!
